The Brabender Void Volume Meter provides you with a rapid, simple and cost-effective alternative to the oil absorption process for determining the void volume of structured solids (e.g. carbon blacks, acetylene black, silica materials). Auxiliary substances are not required. For quality control in incoming and outgoing goods as well as for product development, production monitoring and management, the Void Volume Meter only requires small sample quantities.
With the hydraulically operated die, a very high compression rate is achieved and, compared to oil absorption measurements, a higher measurement frequency is reached, leading to a higher efficiency. A precision scale (optional) is directly linked to the device and communicates with it. Calculating the difference between the measured and the theoretical volume gives the remaining pore volume (VV). The pressure is increased continuously in the sample chamber according to a specified compression rate until the freely editable pressure value is achieved. More information

The Brabender Absorptometer “C” is a tabletop instrument with a torque measurement system (dynamometer), which is used for the precise and reproducible determination of the oil absorption number (OAN) of powdery materials. The test method is based on the changes of the consistency of powdery materials during oil absorption.
The Absorptometer “C” consists of two main parts: a drive unit with a torque measurement system and an attached mixer with special blades.
The torque is measured and recorded throughout a special mixing process: the oil is gradually added by an automated burette into the mixer. The free flowing, powdery material absorbs the liquid and starts agglomerating. During this transition, more and more torque is needed for the mixing and eventually a torque peak appears on the time-torque curve. The OAN itself is given in accordance with the standards and common practice in ml (of the absorbed oil) / 100 g (of sample material). More information

The Elatest® determines the density of polymers, of rubber and unvulcanised rubber compounds - a decisive importance for rubber processing, both during recipe development and for continuous production control.
The sample material is compressed in the measuring cylinder. Any gas contained in the sample escapes during this compression process. Under a pre-set pressure, the moving piston reaches a position which is specific for each individual sample, i.e. the sample is compressed to its specific volume. The stroke of the piston is measured by a displacement transducer and transmitted to the computer.
The software of the implemented computer is user-friendly and is operated via a touchscreen. More information
